Beyond the Familiar: Cultivating Exploration Close to Home
Boston Sea Rover, MA (Mar 15, 2026)
Exploration isn’t just for distant oceans or polar frontiers—it begins in our own waters. In August 2025, a Canadian dive team made the first descent on a virgin deep-water schooner off Toronto—a rare find in a region where technical divers typically travel far afield for challenging dives. This discovery highlights the unexplored potential of local waters and how disciplined planning can turn curiosity into discovery. Framed by the four pillars of exploration—vision, preparation, flexibility, and documentation—this presentation shows how an explorer’s mindset can transform any dive, at any depth, into something extraordinary.
